Chinese Summer Pop Concert
Connecting Modern Music with Modern China
新中国流行音乐盛夏演唱会

Mission
With significant economic growth, increased access to technology, and enormous Western influence, the music and entertainment industry in China has changed significantly in the last decade. There are many new Chinese pop stars, and a host of new reality shows and TV series geared towards the younger generation. The Chinese people’s overall taste in music and entertainment has shifted drastically.
Although it is essential for Chinese generations born abroad to know Chinese traditions and speak the language, it is also important that foreign-born Chinese children have some knowledge of today's music and entertainment so that they can better connect with modern China. This concert provides an educational opportunity for Chinese families who have lived in the U.S for a number of years and haven’t had the time or opportunity to familiarize themselves with the most popular songs in China today.
